FAQs

It prescribes a specific ritual sequence: choose an auspicious day, worship Viṣṇu (Śrīdhara), Lakṣmī (Śrī), and Uccaiḥśravas (Hayarāja), then perform a ghee-homa while reciting Sāvitrī/Gāyatrī mantras.

It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s practical ritual manual aspect—cataloging deity-specific worship, auspicious timing, and mantra-linked homa methods alongside its many other domains (policy, medicine, arts, and more).

Worship of Viṣṇu and Lakṣmī coupled with Sāvitrī-mantra ghee oblations is presented as a purificatory and prosperity-oriented rite, aligning the performer with auspiciousness (śubha) and merit (puṇya) through mantra and fire-offering.
