Ayurvedic bāla-cikitsā: a pediatric lehya (lickable electuary) using powdered śṛṅgī with kṛṣṇā and ativīṣā mixed in honey, and a note that ativīṣā alone can relieve cough, vomiting, and fever in infants.
It shows the Agni Purana functioning as a compendium beyond theology—preserving practical medical therapeutics (drug selection, dosage-form like cūrṇa/lehya, and disease indications) alongside its ritual and cosmological materials.
While primarily therapeutic, such instructions reflect the dhārmic duty of protecting life (especially children) through right knowledge; preserving health supports sāttvika living and the ability to perform daily duties, worship, and vows without obstruction.
