इत्य् आदिमहापुराणे आग्नेये अग्निकार्यकथनं नाम चतुर्त्रिंशो ऽध्यायः अथ पञ्चत्रिंशो ऽध्यायः पवित्राधिवासनादिविधिः अग्निर् उवाच सम्पाताहुतिनासिच्य पवित्राण्यधिवासयेत् नृसिंहमन्त्रजप्तानि गुप्तान्यस्त्रेण तानि तु

ity ādimahāpurāṇe āgneye agnikāryakathanaṃ nāma caturtriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ atha pañcatriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ pavitrādhivāsanādividhiḥ agnir uvāca sampātāhutināsicya pavitrāṇyadhivāsayet nṛsiṃhamantrajaptāni guptānyastreṇa tāni tu

Assim, no Agni Purāṇa, conclui-se o trigésimo quarto capítulo, intitulado «Relato dos procedimentos do rito do fogo». Agora começa o trigésimo quinto capítulo: «O método de adhivāsana (consagração e instalação) dos pavitra e ritos correlatos». Agni disse: «Tendo-os aspergido com a oblação chamada sampāta, deve-se consagrar e instalar os pavitra.
