It gives the ritual framing for mantra-prayoga: mantra yields a specific fruit (phala), and an opening Vaishnava salutation (namaskāra) is performed so the exposition/recitation succeeds.
It models the Purana’s method of instruction—linking practical technique (mantra efficacy and phala) with formal textual protocol (mangala invocation and variant readings), typical of the Agni Purana’s wide-ranging, manual-like coverage.
It states that mantra-practice produces merit and can culminate in bliss and Brahman-attainment, while the salutation functions as a sanctifying act ensuring success (siddhi) of the teaching and the speaker’s words.
