Yagyavalkya

आशाम्बरो न नमस्कारो न दारपुत्राभिलाषी लक्ष्यालक्ष्यनिर्वर्तकः परिव्राट् परमेश्वरो भवति । अत्रैते श्लोका भवन्ति ॥९॥

आशा-अम्बरः । न । नमस्कारः । न । दार-पुत्र-अभिलाषी । लक्ष्य-अलक्ष्य-निर्वर्तकः । परिव्राट् । परम-ईश्वरः । भवति । अत्र । एते । श्लोकाः । भवन्ति ॥९॥

āśāmbaro na namaskāro na dāraputrābhilāṣī lakṣyālakṣyanirvartakaḥ parivrāṭ parameśvaro bhavati | atrāite ślokā bhavanti ||9||

ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਸਤ੍ਰ ਕੇਵਲ ਆਸਾ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ; ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ-ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ; ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼੍ਯ ਅਤੇ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼੍ਯ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਵ੍ਰਿੱਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਿਵ੍ਰਾਟ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼੍ਵਰ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਲੋਕ ਹਨ।

His garment is hope (alone); he offers no salutations; he does not desire wife or sons; he is one who transcends (or brings to cessation) the seen and the unseen; the wandering mendicant becomes the supreme Lord. Here, these verses occur.
