अग्राह्यमिति च स्वस्वरूपव्यतिरिक्तमायामयबुद्धीन्द्रियगोचरजगत्सत्यत्वचिन्तनमग्राह्यम् ॥३८॥

अग्राह्यम् इति च । स्व-स्वरूप-व्यतिरिक्त-माया-मय-बुद्धि-इन्द्रिय-गोचर-जगत्-सत्यत्व-चिन्तनम् । अग्राह्यम् ॥३८॥

IAST Transliteration

agrāhyam iti ca sva-svarūpa-vyatirikta-māyā-maya-buddhīndriya-gocara-jagat-satyatva-cintanam agrāhyam ||38||

Translation

‘ਅਗ੍ਰਾਹ੍ਯ’ ਅਰਥਾਤ—ਆਪਣੇ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਵਰੂਪ ਤੋਂ ਭਿੰਨ, ਮਾਇਆਮਯ, ਬੁੱਧੀ ਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ‘ਸੱਚ’ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਤ੍ਯਤਾ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਨਾ—ਇਹੀ ਅਗ੍ਰਾਹ੍ਯ ਹੈ।

Academic Translation

‘Not graspable’—the contemplation of the reality (truth-status) of the world that is within the range of intellect and senses, constituted of māyā, and other than one’s own essential nature—this is (what is meant by) ‘not graspable’.
