तयोर्मध्ये वरं स्थानं यस्तं वेद स वेदवित् । द्वासप्ततिसहस्राणि प्रतिनाडीषु तैलितम् ॥

तयोः । मध्ये । वरम् । स्थानम् । यः । तम् । वेद । सः । वेद-वित् ॥ द्वा-सप्तति-सहस्राणि । प्रति-नाडीषु । तैलितम् ॥

IAST Transliteration

tayor madhye varaṃ sthānaṃ yas taṃ veda sa vedavit | dvāsaptatisahasrāṇi pratināḍīṣu tailitam ||

Translation

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ (ਇੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੰਗਲਾ) ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਤਮ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ; ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੇਦ-ਵਿਤ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਨਾਡੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੱਤਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ (ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ) ‘ਤੈਲਿਤ’—ਸਨਿੱਘ ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ—ਕਹੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Academic Translation

Between those two (iḍā and piṅgalā) there is an excellent place; whoever knows that, he is a knower of the Veda. Seventy-two thousand (channels) are ‘oiled’/filled with oil in each nāḍī (i.e., the nāḍīs are pervaded by an unctuous essence).
