gopya ūcuḥ | adya naḥ saphalaṃ janma adya naḥ saphalā dṛśaḥ | yattvāṃ paśyāma govinda nāgarījanavallabham
Gopīs
Tirtha: Dvārakā
Type: kshetra
Scene: The gopīs, hands folded and faces radiant, proclaim their fulfilled birth as they behold Govinda; Dvārakā’s urban splendor—palaces, gateways, and the sea—frames Kṛṣṇa as ‘nagara-janavallabha’.
The highest fulfillment of life is divine darśana—seeing Govinda with devotion.
Dvārakā is suggested by “beloved of the city-dwellers,” aligning with the Dvārakā-māhātmya’s sacred geography.
No explicit rite; the verse elevates darśana as a supreme spiritual attainment often sought through pilgrimage.
