nārīdṛṣṭyā sudṛṣṭā sā bhairaveṇa yadā mune | kuddhā'bhavacchivā devī taṃ śaśāpa tadāṃbikā

Translation

ਹੇ ਮੁਨੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਭੈਰਵ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਵੱਲ ਨਾਰੀ-ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਾਲ—ਕਾਮਨਾ ਭਰੀ ਤਨਮਯ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ—ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਤਦੋਂ ਦੇਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਵਾ (ਅੰਬਿਕਾ) ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
