The Greatness of the Ghuśmeśa Jyotirlinga
इत्युक्त्वा तु स्वयं विप्र आशां परिविहाय च । धर्मकार्यरतस्सोऽभूच्छंकरध्यानतत्परः
ityuktvā tu svayaṃ vipra āśāṃ parivihāya ca | dharmakāryaratasso'bhūcchaṃkaradhyānatatparaḥ
ਇਉਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਲੌਕਿਕ ਆਸ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਧਰਮ-ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਤਪਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

Meditation on Śaṅkara here aligns with Saguna upāsanā: the devotee centers mind and conduct on Śiva (often through Liṅga worship), letting outer ritual mature into steady inner contemplation and surrender.
The verse points to disciplined Śiva-dhyāna supported by dharmic living; practically, this is commonly done through daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and focused meditation on Lord Śiva’s form or the Liṅga.
