प्र विश्वसामन्नत्रिवदर्चा पावकशोचिषे । यो अध्वरेष्वीड्यो होता मन्द्रतमो विशि ॥
ਹੇ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸਾਮਨ, ਅਤ੍ਰੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਪਾਵਕ ਜ੍ਵਾਲਾ ਲਈ ਉੱਚਾ ਗਾ। ਜੋ ਅਧ੍ਵਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਡ੍ਯ ਹੈ—ਹੋਤ੍ਰ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਦਰਤਮ—ਉਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਵਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਸ਼ਠਿਤ ਹੋਵੇ।
Mantra 2
न्यग्निं जातवेदसं दधाता देवमृत्विजम् । प्र यज्ञ एत्वानुषगद्या देवव्यचस्तमः ॥
ਅਗਨੀ ਜਾਤਵੇਦਸ ਨੂੰ—ਰਿਤੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਵ੍ਯ ਰਿਤ੍ਵਿਜ ਨੂੰ—ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰੋ। ਅੱਜ ਯਜ੍ਞ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਗ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧੇ; ਦੇਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਵਿਆਪਕ (ਪਹੁੰਚ ਵਾਲਾ) ਉਹੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਰਾਹ ਦਿਖਾਵੇ।

चिकित्विन्मनसं त्वा देवं मर्तास ऊतये । वरेण्यस्य तेऽवस इयानासो अमन्महि ॥
ਵਿਚਾਰਸ਼ੀਲ ਮਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ, ਹੇ ਦੇਵ, ਅਸੀਂ ਮਰਤ੍ਯ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ। ਵਰੈਣ੍ਯ ਉਸ ਇਕ ਦੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਵਸ (ਰੱਖਿਆ) ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਾਲ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

अग्ने चिकिद्ध्यस्य न इदं वचः सहस्य । तं त्वा सुशिप्र दम्पते स्तोमैर्वर्धन्त्यत्रयो गीर्भिः शुम्भन्त्यत्रयः ॥
ਹੇ ਅਗਨੀ, ਹੇ ਸਹਸ੍ਯ (ਬਲਵਾਨ), ਸਾਡਾ ਇਹ ਵਚਨ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰ। ਹੇ ਸੁਸ਼ਿਪ੍ਰ, ਹੇ ਦੰਪਤੀ (ਗ੍ਰਿਹਪਤੀ), ਅਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਤੋਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ; ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਗੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਤ੍ਰੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਜਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਜ ਨਾਲ ਜਗਮਗਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਜ੍ਵਲਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
