Inside were birds made of vaidurya, silver and corals. There were colourful serpents made of various gems, and high-class horses of exquisite limbs drawn.
The verse supports the dharmic lesson of discernment: outward magnificence can be manufactured; righteousness depends on inner truth and purpose, not ornament.
Hanumān observes the ornate, jewel-crafted figures and designs within the splendid setting he is traversing.
Discernment (viveka) and focus—he notes details without losing direction.
