स्वकर्मनिरता नित्यं ब्राह्मणा विजितेन्द्रिया: ।दानाध्ययनशीलाश्च संयताश्च परिग्रहे ।।1.6.13।।

svakarmaniratā nityaṁ brāhmaṇā vijitendriyāḥ |

dānādhyayanaśīlāś ca saṁyatāś ca parigrahe ||1.6.13||

ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਤ, ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਚੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਗ੍ਰਹ—ਲੈਣ ਤੇ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਯਮੀ ਸਨ।
