दिते: पुत्रा न तां राम जगृहुर्वरुणात्मजाम्।अदितेस्तु सुता वीर जगृहुस्तामनिन्दिताम्।।।।

Transliteration

diteḥ putrā na tāṃ rāma jagṛhur varuṇātmajām |

adites tu sutā vīra jagṛhus tāmaninditām ||

Translation

ਹੇ ਰਾਮ! ਦਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਵਰੁਣ-ਆਤਮਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ; ਪਰ ਹੇ ਵੀਰ! ਅਦਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
