The Account of Tāṭakā and the Royal Duty to Protect
ददौ नागसहस्रस्य बलं चास्या: पितामह:।नत्वेव पुत्रं यक्षाय ददौ ब्रह्मा महायशा:।।।।
dadau nāgasahasrasya balaṃ cāsyāḥ pitāmahaḥ |
na tv eva putraṃ yakṣāya dadau brahmā mahāyaśāḥ ||
ਯਸ਼ਸਵੀ ਪਿਤਾਮਹ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਬਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ; ਪਰ ਉਸ ਯਕ੍ਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
