कृतस्वस्त्ययनं मात्रा पित्रा दशरथेन च।पुरोधसा वसिष्ठेन मङ्गलैरभिमन्त्रितम्।।1.22.2।।स पुत्रं मूर्ध्न्युपाघ्राय राजा दशरथ: प्रियम्।ददौ कुशिकपुत्राय सुप्रीतेनान्तरात्मना।।1.22.3।।

Transliteration

kṛtasvastyayanaṃ mātrā pitrā daśarathena ca | purodhasā vasiṣṭhena maṅgalair abhimantritam || 1.22.2 ||

sa putraṃ mūrdhny upāghrāya rājā daśarathaḥ priyam | dadau kuśikaputrāya suprītenāntarātmanā || 1.22.3 ||

Translation

ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਸ਼ਰਥ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਸਵਸਤਿਆਯਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਾਈ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ, ਅਤੇ ਕੁਲ-ਪੁਰੋਹਿਤ ਵਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਠ ਨੇ ਮੰਗਲ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਭਿਮੰਤ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫਿਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਦਸ਼ਰਥ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਯ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੰਮਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਸ਼ਿਕ-ਪੁੱਤਰ (ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਮਿਤ੍ਰ) ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
