अश्वमेधप्रवृत्तिः
Commencement and Performance of Daśaratha’s Aśvamedha
अन्नं हि विधिवत्साधु प्रशंसन्ति द्विजर्षभा:।अहो तृप्ता: स्म भद्रं ते इति शुश्राव राघव:।।।।
annaṁ hi vidhivat sādhu praśaṁsanti dvijarṣabhāḥ |
aho tṛptāḥ sma bhadraṁ te iti śuśrāva rāghavaḥ ||
ਵਿਧੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸੁਚੱਜੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਅੰਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਦ੍ਵਿਜ-ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਹੋ! ਅਸੀਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ; ਤੇਰਾ ਮੰਗਲ ਹੋਵੇ।” ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਰਾਘਵ (ਦਸ਼ਰਥ) ਨੇ ਸੁਣੇ।
While brahmins were being served with food by well-dressed men, some others wearing pendents studded with shining jewels assisted them.
