‘Pitāmaha’ (“Grandfather”) is a common Purāṇic epithet for Brahmā, the progenitor associated with creation and the origin of many sage-lineages.
The verse highlights Pulastya’s swift efficacy—he promptly accomplishes what is conceived—and his responsiveness to Brahmā’s instruction, signaling disciplined alignment with cosmic order.
It points to the ideal of purposeful intent joined with prompt, righteous action—especially when guided by higher wisdom or sacred instruction—rather than delay, doubt, or self-will.
