FAQs

It points to the highest spiritual attainment—liberation or the culminating fruition of dharma and austerity—presented here as the goal voiced by the eminent twice-born.

The term means “the best among the twice-born,” typically referring to exemplary Brahmins or highly learned, disciplined members of the dvija classes speaking with authority on dharma and spiritual aims.

It highlights that spiritual power and dignity can coexist with material poverty; inner discipline (tapas) and receptivity to sacred counsel matter more than external wealth.
