Prayaga-mahatmya
Glory of Prayaga and the Magha Bath at Triveni
Narada
Vrata: Māgha-snāna (implied by ‘māghe’)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It magnifies the fruit of Māgha observances by expressing their merit in vast yuga-based time, teaching that sacred-month discipline yields exceptionally durable spiritual reward.
By exalting Māgha as a multiplier of merit, it encourages intensified devotional practice—such as worship, bathing, charity, and remembrance—during Māgha as a powerful support for bhakti and divine grace.
It uses traditional time-reckoning (yuga calculation) and ritual calendar emphasis (Māgha-month observance), aligning dharma-practice with sacred chronology—useful for vrata planning and pañcāṅga-based ritual timing.
