*शौनक उवाच श्रुत्वा कुमारं जातं सा देवयानी शुचिस्मिता चिन्तयाविष्टदुःखार्ता शर्मिष्ठां प्रति भारत //

Transliteration

*śaunaka uvāca śrutvā kumāraṃ jātaṃ sā devayānī śucismitā cintayāviṣṭaduḥkhārtā śarmiṣṭhāṃ prati bhārata //

Translation

ਸ਼ੌਨਕ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸ਼ੁਚਿਸਮਿਤਾ ਦੇਵਯਾਨੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਘੇਰ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਪੀੜਤ ਹੋਈ; ਹੇ ਭਾਰਤ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਿਸ਼ਠਾ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜ ਗਿਆ।
