Adhyaya 77 — Sanjna’s Withdrawal from Surya: The Birth of Yama and Yamuna, and the Emergence of Chhaya
मार्कण्डेय उवाच इत्युक्ता सा तदा पित्रा तथेत्युक्त्वा च सा मुने ।
संपूजयित्वा पितरं जगामाथोत्तरान् कुरून् ॥
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca ityuktā sā tadā pitrā tathetyuktvā ca sā mune / saṃpūjayitvā pitaraṃ jagāmāthottarān kurūn
ਮਾਰਕੰਡੇਯ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਪਿਤਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਕਹੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ, ਹੇ ਮੁਨੀ, ‘ਏਵਮਸਤੁ’ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਯਥਾਵਿਧੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਉੱਤਰਕੁਰੂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ।
