Adhyaya 71 — The King’s Remorse and the Sage’s Counsel on the Necessity of a Wife
ऋषिरुवाच पाताले नागराजोऽस्ति प्रख्यातश्च कपोतकः ।
तेन दृष्टा त्वया त्यक्ता भ्रममाणा महावने ॥
ṛṣir uvāca pātāle nāgarājo 'sti prakhyātaś ca kapotakaḥ / tena dṛṣṭā tvayā tyaktā bhramamāṇā mahāvane
ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਪਾਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਕਪੋਤਕ’ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਨਾਗਰਾਜ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਉਸ ਜਵਾਨ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਂ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਟਕਦੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
