Adhyaya 46 — Cosmic Dissolution, the Emergence of Brahma, and the Measures of Time (Yugas, Manvantaras, and Brahma’s Day)
अहर्मुखे प्रबुद्धस्तु जगदादिरनादिमान् ।
सर्वहेतुरचिन्त्यात्मा परः कोऽप्यपरक्रियः ॥
ahar-mukhe prabuddhas tu jagadādir anādimān |
sarva-hetur acintyātmā paraḥ ko 'py apara-kriyaḥ ||
(ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ-)ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਆਰੰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਯੋਨੀ—ਆਪ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੀ—ਜਾਗ੍ਰਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਸਰਵ-ਕਾਰਣ, ਅਚਿੰਤ੍ਯ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮ ਤੱਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਹੋਏ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
