Adhyaya 46 — Cosmic Dissolution, the Emergence of Brahma, and the Measures of Time (Yugas, Manvantaras, and Brahma’s Day)
चत्वारि तु सहस्राणि वर्षाणां कृतमुच्यते ।
शतानि सन्ध्या चत्वारि सन्ध्यांशश्च तथाविधः ॥
catvāri tu sahasrāṇi varṣāṇāṃ kṛtam ucyate | śatāni sandhyā catvāri sandhyāṃśaś ca tathāvidhaḥ ||
ਕ੍ਰਿਤ (ਸਤ੍ਯ) ਯੁਗ ਚਾਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਦਿਵ੍ਯ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਧਿਆ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਧਿਆੰਸ਼ ਵੀ ਉਤਨੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਪ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
