आहूय पृथिवीपाल: सत्यधर्मपरायण: । देवने कुशलैर्जिह्नौ्वतं राज्यं वसूनि च

Transliteration

bṛhadaśva uvāca | āhūya pṛthivīpālaḥ satyadharmaparāyaṇaḥ | devane kuśalair jihnaiḥ vṛtaṁ rājyaṁ vasūni ca ||

Translation

ਬ੍ਰਿਹਦਸ਼ਵ ਬੋਲੇ— ਸੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀਪਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ। ਪਰ ਜੂਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਪਟ-ਕੁਸ਼ਲ ਚਤੁਰ ਜੁਆਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛਲ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ; ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ ਛੀਨ ਲਿਆ।
