अध्याय ८ — शल्यस्य सत्कारः, वरदानं, पाण्डवसमागमश्च (Śalya’s Reception, the Boon, and Meeting the Pāṇḍavas)
ममत्ववेक्षया वीर शृणु विज्ञापयामि ते । भवानिह च सारथ्ये वासुदेवसमो युधि
mamatvavekṣayā vīra śṛṇu vijñāpayāmi te | bhavāniha ca sārathye vāsudevasamo yudhi ||
ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਹੇ ਵੀਰ! ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਸੁਣ; ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰਥੀ-ਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂੰ ਵਾਸੁਦੇਵ (ਸ਼੍ਰੀਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
