अध्याय ८ — शल्यस्य सत्कारः, वरदानं, पाण्डवसमागमश्च (Śalya’s Reception, the Boon, and Meeting the Pāṇḍavas)
एकं च्विच्छामि भद्र| ते क्रियमाणं महीपते । राजन्नकर्तव्यमपि कर्तुमहसि सत्तम
ekaṁ ca vicchāmi bhadra te kriyamāṇaṁ mahīpate | rājann akartavyam api kartum arhasi sattama ||
ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਹੋਵੇ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਇੱਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ, ਸਤਪੁਰਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ! ਜੋ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
