Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 50 — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Appraisal of Bhīmasena (भीमसेनभयवर्णनम्)
निष्कर्णामायसी स्थूलां सुपार्श्वा काउ्चनीं गदाम् | शतघ्नीं शतनिर्हादां कथं शक्ष्यन्ति मे सुता:
niṣkarṇāmāyasīṁ sthūlāṁ supārśvāṁ kāñcanīṁ gadām | śataghnīṁ śatanirghādāṁ kathaṁ śakṣyanti me sutāḥ ||
ਧ੍ਰਿਤਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੀ ਗਦਾ ਸਿੱਧੀ, ਭਾਰੀ, ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ; ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗੂੰਜ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਵਜਰਪਾਤਾਂ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਂਕੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਘਾਤ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸਹਿਣਗੇ?
