सतां मतमतिक्रम्य योअ्सतां वर्तते मते । शोचन्ते व्यसने तस्य सुहदो नचिरादिव

satāṁ matam atikramya yo 'satāṁ vartate mate | śocante vyasane tasya suhṛdo na cirād iva ||

ਜੋ ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਘ ਕੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਏ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੁਹਿਰਦ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਇਉਂ ਸੋਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
