शल्य उवाच ततस्तेन तथोक्ते तु प्रीता देवास्तथाब्रुवन् । ब्रह्मन् साथ्विवमुक्त ते हितं सर्वदिवौकसाम्
śalya uvāca | tatastena tathokte tu prītā devās tathābruvan | brahman sādhv idam ukta te hitaṃ sarvadivaukasām |
ਸ਼ਲ੍ਯ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਤਾਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲੇ—‘ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ! ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਹੀ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਰਲੋਕ-ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਿਤ ਹੈ।’
