तेषां श्राद्धानि देयानि श्रुत्वा भारत भारतम् । ब्राह्मणेभ्यो यथाशक्त्या भक्त्या च भरतर्षभ
teṣāṃ śrāddhāni deyāni śrutvā bhārata bhāratam | brāhmaṇebhyo yathāśaktyā bhaktyā ca bharatarṣabha ||
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਭਰਤਵੰਸ਼ੀ! ਇਸ ਭਾਰਤ-ਕਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਰਾਧ ਕਰਨੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ; ਅਤੇ ਹੇ ਭਰਤ-ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ, ਆਪਣੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
