Vāmadeva’s Counsel on Rooted Kingship and Non-violent Victory (वामदेवोपदेशः—दृढमूलराजधर्मः)
भोगेषूदयमानस्य भूतेषु च दयावत:ः । वर्धते त्वरमाणस्य विषयो रक्षितात्मन:
bhogeṣūdayamānasya bhūteṣu ca dayāvataḥ | vardhate tvaramāṇasya viṣayo rakṣitātmanaḥ ||
ਜਿਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਤੇ ਭੋਗ ਦਿਨੋਂਦਿਨ ਵਧਦੇ ਹੋਣ, ਜੋ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਕਰਤੱਬਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਤਤਪਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਹ-ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸੰਯਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ—ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਵਧਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
