इति राजन् यम: प्राह वर्तते च तथैव तत् । अथ भूयांसमेवार्थ करिष्यामि पुन: पुन:,राजन्! यमराजने जो यह बात कही है, वह ज्यों-की-त्यों ठीक है; फिर भी मैं तो बारंबार आपके महान् अर्थका साधन करूँगा ही
iti rājan yamaḥ prāha vartate ca tathaiva tat | atha bhūyāṁsam evārthaṁ kariṣyāmi punaḥ punaḥ, rājan ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ, ਯਮ ਨੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਸੱਚ ਵੀ ਓਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਸਮਝ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਅਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
