अस्तब्ध: पूजयेन्मान्यान् गुरून् सेवेदमायया । अर्चेद् देवानदम्भेन श्रियमिच्छेदकुत्सिताम्
astabdhaḥ pūjayen mānyān gurūn seved amāyayā | arced devān adambhena śriyam icched akutsitām ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਣਯੋਗ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰੇ। ਬਿਨਾ ਕਪਟ ਦੇ ਗੁਰੂਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ। ਡੰਭ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੇ। ਅਤੇ ਧਨ-ਸਮ੍ਰਿੱਧੀ ਵੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਿੰਦਾਰਹਿਤ, ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਉਪਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਚਾਹੇ।
