Chapter 57: Constant Royal Vigilance, Primacy of Protection, and Principles of Dismissal
स्वकर्मनिरता यस्य जना विषयवासिन: । असंघातरता दान्ता: पाल्यमाना यथाविधि
svakarmaniratā yasya janā viṣayavāsinaḥ | asaṅghātaratā dāntāḥ pālyamānā yathāvidhi ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕ ਸੰਸਾਰਕ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੀ ਵਿਧੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰਤਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਸਕਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ-ਜਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ—ਉਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੈ।
