राजधर्मप्रश्नः — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry into Rājadharma (Śānti-parva 56)

राजद्विषप्टे च विप्रस्य विषयान्ते विसर्जनम्‌ | विधीयते न शारीरं दण्डमेषां कदाचन

rājadvīṣa-pāṭe ca viprasya viṣayānte visarjanam | vidhīyate na śārīraṃ daṇḍam eṣāṃ kadācana prajānātha |

ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਲਈ ਰਾਜ-ਸੀਮਾ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਤੱਕ ਨਿਕਾਲਾ ਹੀ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਨਾਥ! ਐਸਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਦੰਡ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ; ਬ੍ਰਹਮਹਤਿਆ, ਗੁਰੂਪਤਨੀਗਮਨ, ਭ੍ਰੂਣਹਤਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਦ੍ਰੋਹ ਵਰਗੇ ਮਹਾਪਾਪ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਦਇਆ-ਸੰਯਤ ਨਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਦੇਸ਼ੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
