ज्ञातिसम्बन्धिविपुले सत्त्वाद्याश्रयसम्मिते । कुले महति विख्याते विशिष्टां वृत्तिमास्थित:

Transliteration

jñātisambandhivipule sattvādyāśrayasam mite | kule mahati vikhyāte viśiṣṭāṃ vṛttim āsthitaḥ ||

Translation

ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਵੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤਾਤ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਤਵ ਆਦਿ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਉਜਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜੀਵਿਕਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ।
