महिमान तु त॑ दृष्टवा पुत्रस्यामिततेजस:
mahimānaṁ tu taṁ dṛṣṭvā putrasyāmitatejasaḥ
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਅਪਾਰ ਤੇਜ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਤੇ ਵਿਸਮਾਦ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਤਦ ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਦੈਵ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਨਿਮਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
