Adhyāya 287 — Janaka’s Inquiry on Śreyas, Abhayadāna, and Asaṅga

तेषां तेषां यथा हि त्वमाश्रमाणां ततस्ततः । नानारूपगुणोद्देशं पश्य विप्र स्थितं पृथक्
teṣāṃ teṣāṃ yathā hi tvam āśramāṇāṃ tatastataḥ | nānārūpaguṇoddeśaṃ paśya vipra sthitaṃ pṛthak ||
ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ, ਤੂੰ ਇਕ-ਇਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਹਰ ਆਸ਼੍ਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖ—ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਨਾਨਾ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਤੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁਕਤ ਹਨ, ਤੱਥਾਪਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਆਧਾਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਲੱਗ ਅਲੱਗ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ; ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸਮਝ।
