Adhyāya 284: Tapas as a Corrective to Household Attachment
Parāśara’s Instruction
उन्मेषश्व निमेषश्च क्षुतं जृम्भितमेव च । लोहितान्तर्गता दृष्टिमहावक्त्रो महोदर:
unmeṣaś ca nimeṣaś ca kṣutaṁ jṛmbhitam eva ca | lohitāntargatā dṛṣṭir mahāvaktrō mahodaraḥ ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੁਲਣਾ ਤੇ ਮਿਚਣਾ, ਛੀਂਕ ਆਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਭਾਈ ਲੈਣਾ—ਇਹ ਕਰਤੱਬ ਵੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਰਗੀ ਲਾਲੀਮਾਯ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੁਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ; ਤੇਰਾ ਮੁਖ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਉਦਰ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਹੈ।
