शुद्धां गतिं तां परमां परैति शुद्धेन नित्यं मनसा विचिन्वन्‌ । ततोडव्ययं स्थानमुपैति ब्रह्म दुष्प्रापमभ्येति स शाश्वतं वै

Transliteration

śuddhāṃ gatiṃ tāṃ paramāṃ paraiti śuddhena nityaṃ manasā vicinvan | tato 'vyayaṃ sthānam upaiti brahma duṣprāpam abhyeti sa śāśvataṃ vai ||

Translation

ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ— ਜੋ ਸਾਧਕ ਸਦਾ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪਰਮ-ਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਅਵਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ, ਦੁਲਭ ਅਤੇ ਸਨਾਤਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਪਦ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਉਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਸ਼ਠਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
