पज्चैव तानि कालक्ष भावाभावौ च केवलौ । अष्टौ भूतानि भूतानां शाश्वतानि भवात्ययौ
pañcaiva tāni kālaś ca bhāvābhāvau ca kevalau | aṣṭau bhūtāni bhūtānāṃ śāśvatāni bhavātyayau ||
ਅਸਿਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— “ਉਹ ਪੰਜ ਮਹਾਭੂਤ, ਕਾਲ, ਅਤੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਭਾਵ ਤੇ ਅਭਾਵ—ਇਹ ਅੱਠ ਤੱਤ ਸਨਾਤਨ ਹਨ। ਇਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਚਰਾਚਰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਲਯ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਵ-ਅਤ੍ਯਯ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।”
