भिक्षुलक्षणम्—एकचर्याः, अहिंसा, कैवल्याश्रमः

आक्रीडानां गृहाणां च गदानामगदस्य च । प्रज्ञावन्त: प्रयोक्तारो ज्ञानवद्धिरनुछिता:

Transliteration

ākrīḍānāṁ gṛhāṇāṁ ca gadānām agadasya ca | prajñāvantaḥ prayoktāro jñānavaddhir anucchitāḥ ||

Translation

ਵਿਆਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਪੁੱਤਰ! ਖੇਡਣ ਲਈ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਘਰ ਚੇਤਨ ਜੀਵ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹੀ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਠੀਕ-ਠੀਕ ਦਵਾਈ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੰਮ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ; ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਤੇ ਵਿਵੇਕੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
