ब्राह्मण उवाच बाल्ये यदि स्यादज्ञानान्मया हस्त: प्रसारित: । निवृत्तलक्षणं धर्ममुपासे संहितां जपन्‌

Transliteration

brāhmaṇa uvāca bālye yadi syād ajñānān mayā hastaḥ prasāritaḥ | nivṛttalakṣaṇaṃ dharmam upāse saṃhitāṃ japan |

Translation

ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਜੇ ਬਚਪਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੱਥ ਫੈਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਹਿਤਾ—ਗਾਇਤਰੀ—ਦਾ ਜਪ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਨਿਵ੍ਰਿੱਤੀ-ਲੱਛਣ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
