ब्राह्मण उवाच नाददे5परवक्तव्यं दत्त चास्य फलं मया । वाक्यं प्रमाणं राजर्षे ममाद्य तव चैव हि

Transliteration

brāhmaṇa uvāca | nādade ’paravaktavyaṃ dattaṃ cāsya phalaṃ mayā | vākyaṃ pramāṇaṃ rājarṣe mamādya tava caiva hi ||

Translation

ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਰਾਜਰਿਸ਼ੀ! ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਉਲਟ-ਬੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨੂੰਗਾ; ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਪ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਦੇ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹਾਂ। ਅੱਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਸਾਡਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਚਨ ਹੈ—ਮੇਰਾ ਵੀ ਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਵੀ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ-ਆਪਣੀ ਗੱਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
