पूजन्युवाच वैरं पञ्चसमुत्थानं तच्च बुध्यन्ति पण्डिता: । स्त्रीकृतं वास्तुजं वाग्ज॑ं ससापत्नापराधजम्‌

Transliteration

pūjanī uvāca: vairaṁ pañcasamutthānaṁ tac ca budhyanti paṇḍitāḥ | strīkṛtaṁ vāstujaṁ vāgjaṁ sasāpatnāparādhajam ||

Translation

ਪੂਜਨੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਵੈਰ ਪੰਜ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ; ਪੰਡਿਤ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ—(੧) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, (੨) ਘਰ-ਜ਼ਮੀਨ/ਮਾਲ-ਅਸਬਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, (੩) ਕਠੋਰ ਤੇ ਚੁਭਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, (੪) ਸੌਤ-ਸਬੰਧੀ ਅਪਰਾਧ/ਦ੍ਵੈਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, ਅਤੇ (੫) ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ।
