ब्रवीषि मधुरं यच्च प्रियो मे5द्य भवानिति
bravīṣi madhuraṁ yac ca priyo me ’dya bhavān iti |
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—“ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈਂ—‘ਅੱਜ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈਂ’—ਇਸ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ, ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ; ਸੁਣ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੀ ਦ੍ਵੈਸ਼ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।”
