केन स्विद् ब्राह्मणो जीवेज्जघन्ये काल आगते । असंत्यजनू पुत्रपौत्राननुक्रोशात् पितामह
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | kena svid brāhmaṇo jīvej jaghanye kāla āgate | asaṃtyajan putrapautrān anukrośāt pitāmaha ||
ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— ਪਿਤਾਮਹ! ਜਦੋਂ ਅਤਿ ਜਘਨ੍ਯ ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਆਮ ਆਸਰੇ ਢਹਿ ਜਾਣ, ਤਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵੇ? ਜੇ ਉਹ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ-ਪੋਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਆਪੱਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਵ੍ਰਿੱਤੀ ਉਚਿਤ ਹੈ?
