यदि गुह्ां न वो नित्य॑ तदा प्रब्रूत मा चिरम्‌ न गुहां श्रोतुमिच्छामि युष्मद्भ्यो द्विजसत्तमा:

Transliteration

yadi guhyaṁ na vo nityaṁ tadā prabrūta mā ciram | na guhyaṁ śrotum icchāmi yuṣmadbhyo dvijasattamāḥ ||

Translation

ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— “ਜੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਗੁਪਤ ਭੇਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤਾਂ ਦੇਰ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਤੇ ਦੱਸੋ। ਹੇ ਦਵਿਜ-ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠੋ! ਜੋ ਗੱਲ ਗੋਪਨੀਯ ਭੇਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਰੱਖਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਵੇ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ।”
